Tree planting grants

Our next grant application intake begins in September 2024.

The City of Winnipeg’s Home Grown Grant is an exciting new way to bring new life to your community’s tree canopy.

The grant offers groups up to $20,000 each for large-scale planting projects on public land. It is funded by the Government of Canada's Two Billion Trees Program, which aims to revitalize urban forests across Canada.

While all registered not-for-profits and incorporated community groups are eligible to apply, we are particularly interested in projects planned for geographic areas of higher poverty and other underserved communities.

We want projects funded by the grant to play a role in making tree planting activities more accessible to all Winnipeggers.
