RSS feeds

City of Winnipeg news and information delivered to your device.

City of Winnipeg RSS (Really Simple Syndication) newsfeeds deliver up-to-the-minute information on our most popular Winnipeg.ca features straight to your device electronically using an RSS newsreader.

If you have a stand-alone RSS reader, copy the XML URL and paste it into your reader.

What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a way to distribute and receive web news content to your device through a newsreader (a kind of news browser). The RSS links on the City of Winnipeg website allow you to receive up-to-date announcements from the City of Winnipeg to your device.

When a news item arrives, you will receive a headline and brief summary of the news item. The headline will be a hyperlink to the full news release on Winnipeg.ca.

Why use RSS?

Select the news you want. RSS allows you to select the type of news and information you receive from websites.

Decide when you get your news. After you set up your news reader, you can customize it to download the news as often as you wish. When a new City of Winnipeg news release is posted, your newsreader will automatically download it when you've scheduled it to do so.

RSS newsreaders

To use RSS, download an RSS newsreader or sign up for a web-based RSS newsreader. Then, after you have launched your RSS newsreader, select an RSS feed that you want to begin receiving, and setup a new newsfeed.
