Community recycling depots

Community recycling depots accept the same materials as our at-home recycling service. These depots are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Accepted items

We accept these items at our community recycling depots:

  • Rigid plastic packaging
  • Paper, cardboard, and empty and flattened cardboard boxes
  • Rinsed & empty plastic, glass, and metal containers

Not accepted items

We do not accept these items at our Community Recycling Depots:

  • Yard waste, including Christmas trees
  • Styrofoam
  • Appliances
  • Furniture
  • Construction materials
  • Household hazardous waste like electronics, cleaning supplies, batteries
  • Garbage

Some of these items are accepted at our 4R Winnipeg Depots. If you aren’t sure if your item is accepted, please search for your item on the Recyclepedia.

How to use the depots

  • Check our recycling tips to make sure your items are ready for recycling
  • Put your materials into the designated bins
  • You can leave lids on containers, caps on bottles, staples in paper, labels on containers, and windows in envelopes
  • Squish bottles, milk jugs and cartons to leave more room in the bins
