Universal Design Policy
City Council passed the Universal Design Policy in 2001. The goal of the policy is to have a city that is inclusive, comfortable, and usable for everyone. It guides the City in removing and avoiding barriers in interior and exterior environments, in information and communication and in delivering all services.
Accessibility Design Standards
The Winnipeg Accessibility Design Standard provides design requirements for indoor and outdoor environments. The City uses this standard to guide all new construction and major renovations.
