Let’s Chip In

Let’s Chip In Depots are closed for the season.

Recycle your real Christmas tree at one of our Let’s Chip In Depots and pick up free wood chip mulch in January, while quantities last at all Let’s Chip In Depots (except the 4R Winnipeg Depot locations). Please bring your own container.

Prepare your tree for drop-off

Please remember to remove all decorations, tree stands, and plastic tree bags.

Do not leave these items on the tree or at the depots. Take them and other garbage home with you.

Thanks to all participating residents for taking the time to recycle your Christmas trees. Over the past 33 years, we've recycled over 426,044 trees, which has diverted more than 1,937 tonnes of material from our landfill.

Curbside collection of real Christmas trees

You have two options for curbside collection of your real Christmas tree.

You can save and bundle your Christmas tree for yard waste collection in the spring. The bundle must be no longer than one metre (39 inches) and contain small branches (no more than 10 cm or 4 inches in diameter).

You can also cut up and place the tree in your garbage cart, as long as the lid is closed and the tree pieces fall freely when the cart is emptied. It cannot go in your recycling cart.

We do not accept trees in our large item pick up service.
