Contract terms

Recreation Program Leaders are not considered City of Winnipeg employees. They are contractors hired to teach or lead a specific program based on certifications or experience. Compensation varies based on type and length of course and special certifications.

Program details

  • Program sessions range from one day up to 10 weeks
  • Can be offered weekdays, weeknights, and weekends
  • Are taught at locations throughout Winnipeg

Requirements

Recreation Program Leaders must:

  • Be eligible to work in Canada
  • Be able to lead a program in English or French
  • Be over 18 years of age; however, we may consider younger applicants for some programs
  • Obtain the following before starting work:
    • Police Information Check (current within three months)
    • Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C from:
  • Have any special certifications required by the activity (e.g. fitness leader certification)

  • Title of the course or program
  • Brief description of the course
  • Facility and supply requirements
  • Suggested length and duration of the course
  • Preferred dates, days and time for the course
  • Potential locations
  • Any other pertinent information
  • A resume with your contact information (if you would like to lead the program)
