Winnipeg's Climate Action Plan

Winnipeg’s Climate Action Plan: Planning for Climate Change – Acting for People (WCAP) set the City’s first community-wide climate action plan. The plan was approved for implementation by Council on September 20, 2018.

Every year, we report annual progress to Council:

2022 marked the end of the short-term actions of the WCAP. The Community Energy Investment Roadmap will be used as a framework for the planned update of the WCAP and development of a Climate Resilience Strategy. This update will begin in 2024.
