Rental availability

We offer charters:

  • Weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Saturdays from 5 a.m. until 1 a.m. Sunday
  • Sundays and holidays from 7 a.m. to midnight

You will be charged from the time the bus departs the garage until it returns to the garage. Prices do not include GST. Please note that there is a minimum charge of two hours for all charters. Rates are subject to change without notice.

Bus details

Standard transit bus 40-ft (12.2m):

  • Seating for either 38 passengers or two passengers travelling with a wheelchair or scooter and 28 others

Articulated “bendy” transit bus 60-ft (18.3m):

  • Seating for either 54 passengers or two passengers travelling with a wheelchair or scooter and 44 others

All buses are equipped with an onboard address system. Please indicate at time of booking if you require this system enabled.

Service area

  • Our charter bus range is limited to destinations that are within Winnipeg
    • This is bounded by the Perimeter Highway or the city limits, whichever is greater

Rent a bus

Submit your rental request by phone:

  • Minimum 10 business days for a simple point A to point B service contract
  • Minimum 20 business days for an extensive contract involving several trips or stops

Have the following information ready when you call:

  • Date of charter
  • Pick-up and return locations and times
  • Total number of passengers
  • Wheelchair securement locations required (two available per bus)
  • Client name, mailing address, and contact phone number

Confirmation

We will review your request and respond with a quote. Once you receive the confirmed quote, please review in detail, sign, and return to us to proceed with your charter service booking.

Charter bookings are finalized in writing. We will not dispatch a bus if the agreement is not finalized.

Cancellation

  • A cancellation charge of $154.00 will apply to all charters cancelled later than 11 a.m. on the last business day prior to date of charter service, unless cancellation is severe weather related
  • Winnipeg Transit reserves the right to cancel any rental/charter due to emergency conditions, and Transit shall not be responsible for any losses incurred as a result of such a cancellation

Rules of conduct

  • Rental/charter buses are governed by Public Transit By-Law 63-2017
  • Consumption of alcohol or drug use is strictly prohibited
  • Smoking is prohibited
  • No animals (except service animals) are allowed on charter buses
  • Sorry, we do not charter for “Safe Grads” or “Pub Crawls”

Payment

  • A deposit is not required
  • We will invoice you after your service is complete
  • You will be charged for any damage or excessive uncleanliness caused by the passengers
