Remembrance Day transit fares

On Remembrance Day, Winnipeg Transit honours the men and women who have sacrificed for our country.

Annually on November 11, we offer free transit service to:

  • armed forces veterans,
  • current serving personnel, including cadets and reservists,
  • and one companion

This applies to all regular transit service, including On-Request and Transit Plus.

Those who wish to use this free service may do so by:

  • wearing a military uniform, or
  • presenting a military identification or CF1 card at the time of boarding.

When displaying one of the above, the individual should also identify their companion to the operator.

Free access to all transit service for all armed forces veterans and serving personnel annually on Remembrance Day was approved by Winnipeg City Council in September 2018.
