Library Advisory Committees (LACs) report to the Library Board. They provide feedback on Library services in their local areas.
The Winnipeg Public Library Board and Library Advisory Committees are governed by City of Winnipeg By-law 119/2004.
There are five (5) Library Advisory Committees. They represent five City of Winnipeg community areas:
- Assiniboia
- City Centre
- East Kildonan-Transcona
- Lord Selkirk-West Kildonan
- Riel
Each Library Advisory Committee includes:
- Six (6) members of the public
- Two (2) Library Board representatives
- One (1) Winnipeg Public Library Liaison

Activities
LAC members are asked to:
- Provide feedback on library services and programs within their community
- Take part in special activities and projects with their local library branches
- Promote library programs and services within their community
- Discuss local issues with the Library Board
