Connecting professional makers with the public
The Maker-in-Residence (MiR) program connects library visitors with Winnipeg-based professional makers who are passionate about their craft and skills in visual/creative arts, technology, and/or digital media. These makers enjoy teaching and mentoring - and igniting and supporting creativity in others.
The MiR works out of Millennium Library’s ideaMILL with public drop-in open studio time. In addition, scheduled workshops are held in the ideaMILL and library branches. View our Events in the next month listings for upcoming workshops.
Learn about the ideaMILL makerspace
The MiR works out of Millennium Library’s ideaMILL makerspace - a space for collaboration and learning. You will find tools such as sewing machines, sound booths, musical instruments, 3D printing and computers with creative software.
Two Makers will be in residence from September to December 2024.
The Maker-in-Residence program is funded by the City of Winnipeg. Call-outs for makers to apply are held at least once a year. For questions about the program, please contact us.
