Mowing and weed control are shared responsibilities.
Homeowners are responsible for grass and weeds:
- In their own yards
- On boulevards that face collector and residential streets
- On resident-decorated boulevards
We cut grass and dandelions:
- On medians and boulevards on regional routes
- In athletic fields
- In parks and greenspaces
We do this on a rotating basis from mid-May through mid-October.
Our mowing cycle is approximately 10-14 days. This means we will mow each surface around eight to 12 times in a season.
We use herbicides to control weeds on:
- Medians and boulevards on regional routes
- Ditches where grass has never been planted
- Extended boulevards (those more than 20-feet-wide)
Buffer zone request
People opposed to herbicide use can request buffer zone around their property.
