Subcommittees of the Human Rights Committee of Council

On November 14, 2018, City Council created the Human Rights Committee Council to focus on human rights, diversity, equity, peace and inclusion and to assume the work previously done by the Access Advisory Committee and the Citizen Equity Committee. These Committees were dissolved. Two subcommittees were then created: Equity and Diversity Committee and Accessibility and Inclusion Committee.

The subcommittees are a space for community conversations, ideas and issues to be brought up and considered by the Human Rights Committee of Council. The subcommittees can bring recommendations to the Human Rights Committee of Council.  If a subcommittee member is also a Human Rights Committee member, they are able to bring forward ideas/motions for the subcommittee.
