No. You may receive a new assessment notice for a variety of reasons including:

  1. Ownership changes (initiated through Land Titles):
    • new owner(s)
    • change in title (change in name or title holders)
       
  2. Building alteration/demolition permit resulting in a change to assessed value, classification or liability:
    • additions to property (garage, deck, air conditioning, basement finish, etc.)
    • renovations/alterations
    • demolitions
    • conversion from multi-family to single family or single family to multi-family
       
  3. Inquiry resulting in a change to assessed value, classification or liability. Assessor has inspected property for:
    • structural problems
    • correcting property features
    • neighbourhood review

Notices will be mailed June 5, 2024.

Filing an application

Yes, you may file an application for revision for your Realty Assessment between general assessment years.

A public notice appears in both daily newspapers to remind property owners of this important deadline.

You may also file an application for revision for a Supplementary Assessment Notice which may be issued by the Assessment and Taxation Department if there is a change in the details on a prior notice (for example: name, description, address, changes to property value, etc.).

If you have concerns about your assessment, you should act promptly to have your concerns addressed.

Legislation allows for an application for revision to be filed with the Board of Revision within 20 days of receipt of a Supplementary Assessment Notice.

You may file an application for formal review of your 2025 Realty Assessment between June 5, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. and July 2, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. CT. 

The deadline to receive applications for the 2025 Realty Assessment is July 2, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. CT. Late applications will not be accepted.

Your completed application must include the non-refundable filing fee.  

Yes. Online filing is available between June 5, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. and July 2, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. CT Credit card payment is required.

If a property owner feels an application for review is warranted, online filing is encouraged.

If the non-refundable filing fee does not accompany your application for revision, your application will not be accepted.

No. If you miss the application for revision filing deadline, in any given year, you must wait until the next year to file an application for revision.
