Trade permits
Homeowners can apply for residential trade permits where the homeowner lives in a single detached dwelling that is their primary residence, and does the work themselves.

Submitting documents
If your application requires supporting documentation, refer to the relevant application form for requirements. File size cannot exceed 50 MB. Applications will not be processed until all documentation is received. Once your application is reviewed, you will be contacted if more information is needed.
If you submit revised documents, make sure:
- the revision is clearly identified on the drawing
- the file is named correctly

- $10,000 daily limit
Trust account
- Customer trust accounts can be managed online. View your balance, account users, recent transactions and add funds to your account using a credit card. Payments will be processed based on current arrangements with the Zoning & Permits office and funds will not be automatically withdrawn from trust accounts.

If you are unable to pay online or with a trust account:
- Pay by mail, in person or phone 204-986-5140.
- For development applications, call the phone number listed on your invoice. Individual invoices of more than $1,000 must be paid by certified cheque or bank draft (payable to City of Winnipeg).
