Anti-Semitic Graffiti – Arrest: C24-303346

Between September 28 and December 31, 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service received an abundance of reports of graffiti that included anti-Semitic acronyms and symbols including swastikas on various structures, objects and fences within a Charleswood neighborhood.

Officers from the West District General Patrol, Community Support Units and School Resource Section retrieved CCTV evidence and spoke with property owners who had been victimized and these reports were forwarded to the Major Crimes Unit - Hate Crimes Section.

Investigators identified a suspect believed to be involved in these offences.

On January 12, 2025, the Major Crimes Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the Westdale neighbourhood. An adult male was taken into custody.

Nevin Thunder YOUNG (19) of Winnipeg was charged with 26 counts of Mischief Under $5,000 and was detained in custody.

The Major Crimes Unit's Hate Crimes investigators are continuing this investigation.
