Noise nuisances, prohibitions and permits are governed by Part 5 of the City of Winnipeg Neighbourhood Liveability By-law. Details on when a Noise Permit would be required can be found within the By-law.

In addition to any Federal or Provincial laws and regulations, the use of firearms within the City of Winnipeg are governed locally by the City of Winnipeg Firearms Bylaw. A Permit under this bylaw is required any time where a firearm is discharged, including the discharge of blank ammunition.  Additionally, the Police should be notified for instances where a firearm, or replica, is brandished as this helps to reduce the risks associated with a Police response to a call for service.

The assignment of dedicated Policing resources for film productions is handled through our Special Duty Program.  This allows entities to hire off-duty officers in support of film productions among other roles.
