Man arrested during serious sexual assault in progress: C26-268567

On October 21, 2026, at 7:04 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a sexual assault in progress in the 300 block of Stanley Street.  

The incident was immediately reported to police by a member of the public, allowing officers to respond quickly and intervene.

At 7:11 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers located a 34-year-old man in the process of sexually assaulting an unconscious adult woman. Officers took the man into custody, and members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service attended and transported the victim to hospital in stable condition.

Harley Aaron OKEMOW (34) has been charged with Sexual Assault Cause Bodily Harm.

OKEMOW is a high-risk sex offender being monitored by the Manitoba Integrated High Risk Sex Offenders Unit (MIHRSOU).

He was detained in custody.
