Airsoft handguns and knife seized following weapons incident: C26-245196

On September 28, 2026, just before 2:00 a.m., Central District General Patrol officers responded to the area of Portage Avenue and Sherbrook Street for the report of a male pointing a handgun.

Officers arrived in the area and quickly found the suspect nearby, arresting him without incident. A search of the suspect and his belongings resulted in the seizure of two airsoft handguns and a butterfly knife.

Investigators determined that the suspect had become involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown individual in the area of Portage Avenue and Sherbrook Street. This dispute escalated to the point where the suspect produced what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it at the victim before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

Jaycee Gerald BROWN, (36), has been charged with a number of weapons, breach of probation and firearms-related charges and was detained in custody.
