On July 20, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received information and entered into an investigation into the whereabouts of a 50-year-old man with Warrant of Apprehension and Suspension of Parole/Statutory Release, and a warrant for Unlawfully at Large.
West District General Patrol officers observed the man in the 300 block of Lodge Avenue. Officers attempted to arrest the man, who mounted a scooter and attempted to ride away. While fleeing from police, the man collided with a Winnipeg Police Service patrol vehicle resulting in injuries. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition and admitted to hospital.
During processing, officers seized:
- 43.7 grams of Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value: $345.00)
- 12.5 grams of Cocaine (Estimated Street Value: $1,250)
- $415 CDN currency
A 50-year-old man has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Resist Peace Officer
- Warrant – Unlawfully at Large
- Warrant – Apprehension and Suspension of Parole/Statutory Release
He was detained in custody.
