Nearly two dozen parked vehicles vandalized on Furby Street: C26- 172832

On July 15, 2026, around 6:30 a.m., almost two dozen vehicles had their windshields and windows smashed while parked in the 600 block of Furby Street.

Officers patrolling in the Central District were flagged down and advised of the situation, however the suspect had already fled. Police spoke to several victims and obtained home video surveillance showing a male suspect using a chain to damage the vehicles. 

Around 9:20 a.m, police located a man who matched the suspect’s description at Rupert/Main. He was placed under arrest and had a chain in his possession.  

Phillip Charles HASTINGS, (30), was charged with the following offences:

  • Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment x 22
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was detained in custody.
