Commercial robbery with a weapon leads to arrest: C26-156999

On June 29, 2026, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a robbery at a financial institution in the Sturgeon Creek area. Officers located the suspect shortly after and took him into custody without incident.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., an adult male attended a financial institution in the 3200 block of Portage Avenue, where he passed a note to staff containing demands, including a threat that he was armed. After receiving property from staff, the suspect fled in a taxicab.

West District General Patrol officers determined that the suspect was driven to a licensed premise in the 1900 block of Portage Avenue following the robbery. He was located at that location and taken into custody before being turned over to the Major Crimes Unit.

Dale Robert MARSH (71) has been charged with:

  • Armed Robbery using a Firearm
  • Possession of Scheduled Substance – Fentanyl
  • Warrant – Apprehension and Suspension of Parole/Statutory Release

He was detained in custody.
