Police seize zip gun. One man in custody: C26-105938

On May 7, 2026, just before 11:30 a.m., West District Community Support Unit officers responded to an apartment complex in the 200 block of Nassau Street North for the report of a man causing a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers located the man nearby outside in the back lane of the 500 block of Corydon Avenue. Further investigation revealed that the man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and he was taken into custody

Upon searching the man’s backpack, officers located and seized the following:

  • Improvised firearm (zip-gun)
  • Homemade knife
  • Shotgun shell

Cadan Michael Ashton WALTERSON, (27), has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of Weapon x 2
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 3
  • Warrant – Robbery with Weapon

 He was detained in custody
