On May 6, 2026, Winnipeg Police Service’s Central District General Patrol officers arrested a 33-year-old male suspect in relation to a commercial robbery of a cannabis store in the 100 block of Isabel Street.

On May 5, at 7:15 p.m., the suspect entered the retail store and waited for a customer to leave before locking himself and the lone employee inside. He then attended behind the counter and sexually assaulted the 24-year-old female employee. She pushed the man away and fled the store uninjured before contacting police. The suspect fled on foot with an unknown quantity of cannabis products before police arrived.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m., officers located the suspect in the 800 block of Main Street and placed him under arrest without incident.

The 33-year-old man faces charges of Sexual Assault, Forcible Confinement, and Theft Under $5,000. He was also arrested on the strength of a Warrant for Fail to Comply with a Probation Order.

He was released on an Undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
