On May 1, 2026, around 2:00 a.m., a 59-year-old man was arrested for assaulting and threatening three healthcare workers at a hospital in the 300 block of Booth Drive.

Between April 30 and May 1, 2026, a man who was being treated was behaving in an aggressive manner and making sexually inappropriate comments to the surrounding staff. Due to his escalating behaviour he was placed in secure restraints by hospital security.

At various stages of treating the man, two healthcare workers were sexually assaulted, one had her garment ripped as the man tried to bite her, and a third healthcare worker was verbally threatened.

The incidents were reported and police were contacted.

Officers from the West District arrived and met with the healthcare employees, and the man was taken into custody.

He is facing the following charges:

  • Sexual Assault x 2
  • Assault
  • Utter Threats to Kill or Cause Harm

He was released on an Undertaking.
