On April 27, 2026, shortly before 3:20 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 200 block of Stella Walk for the report of multiple people who had been assaulted.

Attending North District General Patrol officers located two male victims outside in the above-mentioned block of Stella Walk, and a third male inside a nearby suite, all suffering from serious injuries. Officers provided the victims with emergency medical care before ambulance arrived.

The two males located outside, aged 23 and 27 respectively, were transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable. The third male was transported to hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced deceased.

The Homicide Unit assumed the investigation and have now identified the deceased male as 49-year-old Robson Isaac SINCLAIR, a member of Fisher River Cree Nation who had been residing in Winnipeg.

Elroy Ross (23) is charged with Manslaughter and Aggravated Assault. He was detained in custody.
