Man charged with harassment, threats to kill and child sexual abuse material offences: C26-64109

On March 19, 2026, the Winnipeg Police Service was contacted about a man who told a third party of his desire to kill four women known to him. 

A 27-year-old man was taken into custody by Central District Officers and arrested for Uttering Threats to Kill.

 As the investigation evolved, the Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) assumed the investigation.

Between November 2025 and January 2026, one of the known women was criminally harassed by the accused.

On March 20, 2026, the ICE Unit along with the Counter Exploitation Unit, conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of St. James Street where electronic devices were seized. 

Kemal YILDIR (27), was charged with the following offences:

  • Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm x 4
  • Criminal Harassment
  • Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by Means of Telecommunication
  • Possession of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material
  • Access any Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material

He was detained in custody.
