Homicide Investigation: R26-14070

On March 13, 2026, just after 1:50 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service recovered a vehicle in the 600 block of Jarvis Avenue which was suspected to be arson.

Investigators located the remains of a deceased male within the vehicle.

The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Vincent MORRISSETTE.

The Homicide Unit assumed the investigation.

Investigators have determined that a physical altercation had occurred between the two males in the 200 block of Salter Street prior to the arson.

On March 15, 2026, investigators arrested a male in the 200 block of Salter Street.

On March 16, 2026, 32-year-old Fabian Gerald MICHELLE, (32), has been charged with Second-Degree Murder and was detained in custody.

The investigation is continuing.
