In February 2026, the Counter Exploitation Unit became aware of inappropriate contact between a teenager and a 24-year-old man, resulting in his arrest. The two had met online and eventually met in person, where the teen was sexually assaulted.

In late February 2026, the teen was contacted by the suspect through social media, which led to multiple in-person meetings over the course of several days, during which the teen was sexually assaulted. The assaults took place at a residence in the 300 block of Oakview Avenue.

On February 27, West District General Patrol officers responded to the above location, where the two were discovered together and the assaults were disclosed to police. The investigation was turned over to the Counter Exploitation Unit.

On March 2, investigators arrested Sterling Bergmann CAMARA (24) for Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by Means of Telecommunication, Sexual Assault x 2, and Sexual Interference x 2. He was detained in custody.
