On February 27, 2026, East District General Patrol officers observed a stolen gold BMW X5 being operated in the area of Stadacona Street and Watt Street. With assistance from members of Air1 who maintained visual containment, the vehicle was followed to the 400 block of Aikins Street, and the driver was arrested without incident.
The driver, identified as 38-year-old Dustin DRAKE, was turned over to the Major Crimes Unit who assumed the investigation. DRAKE was linked to numerous commercial break-ins throughout southern Manitoba including Winnipeg, and Glenboro.
- On October 28, 2025, at 9:08 p.m., a suspect attended a retail store in the 2300 block of McPhillips Street on a stolen 1999 BMW F650, selected and stole merchandise
- On December 15, 2025, at 3:45 a.m., a suspect attended a storage facility in the 5600 block of Roblin Boulevard in a stolen 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche, broke in and made off with beer valued at $50
- On December 16, 2025, at 5:51 a.m., a suspect attended an electronics store in the 1900 block of Pembina Highway and drove a U-Haul van through a locked overhead door. The suspect made off with electronics valued at $6,100
- On January 10, 2026, at 5:00 a.m., a suspect attended a hotel in the 400 block of Lyall street in Glenboro, MB, broke in and made off with tobacco products and liquor valued at $2,000
Major Crimes investigators linked DRAKE to the above-mentioned incidents and on February 3, executed a search warrant in the 1-99 block of Harvlong Avenue. DRAKE was
not located at the time the search warrant was executed, however merchandise linked to some of the break & enters was located and seized as evidence.
As a result of his arrest on February 27, investigators have charged DRAKE with the following offences in relation to his involvement in these incidents:
- Break Enter & Theft – Place x 3
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 x 3
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 x 4
- Theft Under $5,000
- WPS Warrant (Fail to Comply Probation Order)
- Morden Police Warrant (Theft Under $5,000)
DRAKE was detained in custody.
