Two in custody after West Broadway robbery: C26-31844

The Winnipeg Police Service attended to a robbery in the West Broadway area were a 32-year-old man was stabbed. The two suspects fled prior to police arrival.

On February 9, 2026, at approximately 8:23 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers responded to a robbery at a licensed establishment in the 600 block of Westminster Avenue. Officers learned that the 32-year-old victim had been involved in a verbal altercation with two suspects in the parking lot, which escalated when he was stabbed and had personal property stolen.

Officers provided lifesaving first aid until members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service arrived. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and identified Michael Anthony CARIBOU (35) and Cassandra Lorraine BEARDY (34) as suspects.  

On February 12 at 10:48 p.m., members of the Manitoba Integrated Violent Offender Apprehension Unit located both suspects at a residence in the 700 block of Notre Dame Avenue. Of note, CARIBOU was the subject of two warrants for being unlawfully at large. He exited the residence through a window to evade arrest and was apprehended after a brief foot chase. Officers located a small amount of Methamphetamine during his arrest.

CARIBOU has been charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Resist Police Officer, and Possession of Scheduled Substance - Methamphetamine. He was detained in custody.

BEARDY has been charged with Robbery and Aggravated Assault. She was detained in custody.
