Drug trafficking investigation nets seizure of firearms and drugs – woman in custody: C26-28018

On February 7, 2026, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns & Gangs Unit arrested 31-year-old Alexandra Lynn PREFONTAINE in relation to a drug trafficking and firearms investigation involving a residence in the 1-00 block of Grady Bend Place.

During the month of January, investigators identified the above-mentioned address along with two vehicles associated with PREFONTAINE; a 2015 Cadillac SRX and a 2017 Nissan Rogue.

On February 7, officers initiated a traffic stop on the Cadillac at Frog Plain Way and Murray Avenue and arrested the lone driver, PREFONTAINE. Officers seized 71 Grams of Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value: $3,550), a cell phone, and $1,100 in cash.

Later the same date, with assistance from the Tactical Support Team, officers executed a search of the Grady Bend Place residence and seized the following property as evidence:

  • A .22 Calibre Savage Rifle
  • A 9mm Rohn Handgun
  • Ammunition
  • 446 Grams of Methamphetamine (Estimated Street Value: $72,300)
  • 46 Grams of Heroin (Estimated Street Value: $18,000)
  • 116 UG LSD (Acid) in patch form (Estimated Street Value: $1,500)
  • 480 Grams of LSD in liquid form (Estimated Street Valus: $1,000)
  • 9 Grams of Psylocibin (Estimated Street Value: $90)
  • Money Counter, Scales, Packaging

PREFONTAINE is charged with 17 offences including firearms, drug trafficking, proceeds of crime, and breach of an Undertaking. She was detained in custody.
