On January 20, 2026, just before 2:00 a.m., East District General Patrol officers arrested a male after he fled from them in a vehicle, at a high rate of speed, eventually crashing into the side of a house.
Officers were patrolling in the North Saint Boniface neighbourhood when they observed a white Honda Pilot missing it’s front licence plate. The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of a commercial business in the 300 block of Provencher Boulevard and let out a female passenger. Officers drove up to the vehicle and exited their cruiser in the attempt to initiate a traffic stop when the male driver drove away in an aggressive manner, nearly hitting the two members. The vehicle continued to drive westbound on Provencher Boulevard at a high rate of speed in order to avoid police.
Officers were contacted a short time later by residents of a house in the 200 block of Dollard Boulevard as the suspect vehicle had collided with it, causing significant damage. The residents of the house were uninjured as a result of this collision.
Just after 3:00 a.m., the suspect male was located at a hospital in the 400 block of Tache Avenue, where he was being treated for injuries consistent with being in a motor vehicle collision and arrested.
A 41-year-old male has been charged with the following:
- Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon x 2
- Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance
- Mischief Over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

He was detained in custody.
