Public Assistance sought in Norwood West restaurant arson investigation: C25-279897

On November 20, 2025, at 9:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a suspicious fire inside a restaurant in the 1-99 block St. Mary’s Road between Marion and Horace Streets.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit patrolling the area were dispatched and attended the restaurant shortly after 10:00 p.m. During their investigation, it was learned that a group of five adults (two women, three men), attended the restaurant where they ordered food and alcoholic beverages.

When it came time to settle the bill for the consumed items, a fire was set inside the restaurant causing significant damage. The fire was extinguished prior to the arrival of emergency personnel and no injuries were reported. All suspects fled on foot before police arrived.

Due to the nature of the incident, investigators believe the fire was deliberately set as a diversion to facilitate the suspects’ escape.

Fire Investigators of the Major Crimes Unit have assumed the investigation and are requesting public assistance in locating the following female suspect:

She is described as follows:

  • Indigenous/Metis
  • 20-30 years
  • Medium build
  • Brown/red curly hair
  • Black tank top
  • Tattoo on chest/breast area
