Police arrest a man in possession of a loaded sawed-off shotgun: C25-295824

On December 8, 2025, just after 2:30 a.m., Central District General Patrol officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Toronto Street for an unrelated matter. Upon arrival, officers located a man wearing a backpack which officers observed to have the barrel of a shotgun sticking out of it. The man was immediately taken into custody without incident.

A search of the backpack revealed a loaded sawed-off shotgun, a small amount of shotgun ammunition, and a folding knife which were all seized by police.

A 48-year-old man is facing multiple firearm and weapons-related charges and was detained in custody.
