On December 5, 2025, West District General Patrol officers responded to a retail business in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue for the report of retail theft. Upon arrival, officers entered into an investigation which revealed that a woman had attended the business, and selected approximately $575 worth of store merchandise, before attempting to leave the store without paying. She was stopped by a staff member and arrested by police without incident.

Investigators determined that the woman was part of an ongoing investigation by the Property Crime Unit and linked to a string of prior retail thefts which included the following:

  • Between August 7 and November 24, 2025: A woman entered a retail store in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue 12 times and stole items totalling $3,147.

  • September 4: A woman entered a retail store in the 600 block of Sargent Avenue and stole items valued at $80

  • October 16: A woman entered a retail store in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue and stole items valued at $103

All incidents were captured on retailers’ security cameras and reported to police. The total loss incurred by the retailers is estimated at over $4,000.

Priscilla Anne ROSS, (57), has been charged with Theft Under $5,000 as well as four additional warrants consisting of 14 additional Theft Under $5,000 charges.

She was detained in custody.
