On November 11, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., North District General Patrol officers stopped a taxi in the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue after observing a Highway Traffic Act offence. During the traffic stop, officers learned that one of the passengers, 41-year-old, Bernard Keith RAVEN, was wanted for breach of probation after cutting off his ankle monitor the day prior.
During the arrest, officers discovered a loaded sawed-off 12-Gauge shotgun, a magazine with rounds of ammunition, a folding knife, and seven packages of illegal cigarettes within a duffle bag in the taxi and seized them as evidence.
RAVEN is charged with numerous firearms, weapons, and breach of release order offences and was detained in custody.
A second passenger, a 25-year-old woman, faces similar weapons and firearms offences and was released on an Undertaking to attend court at a later date.
In addition, RAVEN was issued a Provincial Offence Notice in regards to the HTA infraction and both were issued notices regarding the possession of the illegal cigarettes.
