A random home invasion in Templeton neighbourhood sends man in his 80s to hospital: C25-219520

An older couple was assaulted during a random home invasion on Meredith Bay in the Templeton neighbourhood. An unknown man was arrested nearby.

On September 15, 2025, around 6:30 p.m., a couple in their 70s and 80s, were sitting in their living room when an unknown man entered their home and armed himself with a knife.

Without provocation, the female was punched, and the male was stabbed. The suspect then fled the residence and someone on scene contacted 911.

The female victim was treated on scene by paramedics and the male victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

Officers from North District located an intoxicated suspect nearby and took him into custody. A knife was recovered during his arrest.  

Ryan Chase GEORGE, (23), was charged with the following offences:

  • Break Enter & Commit Aggravated Assault - Dwelling House
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon

He was detained in custody.
