Man charged after pointing a shotgun at a passerby: C25-193027

A man was arrested and charged for pointing a gun at a teen walking down a back lane after they exchanged words with each other.

On August 17, 2025, in the late afternoon, officers met with the victim who indicated he was walking down a back lane when he and a man in the area had a verbal altercation. The victim left, but later passed through the laneway again.This time, the accused was standing on a back porch armed with a shotgun, which he pointed at the teen.

The victim ran to safety and police were contacted.

Around 5:00 p.m., police arrested Arrenia SU (41). The Major Crimes Unit continued the investigation and during a search warrant police seized a shotgun, two rifles and ammunition.

SU was charged with the following offences:

  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regs
  • Careless Storage of Firearm, Ammunition, Prohibited Weapon or Device

He was detained in custody.
