Gun pointed at vehicle, man arrested by police: C25-158756

Police were called to the 1600 block of Pembina Highway regarding a man who was pointing a gun at another driver while actively driving his own vehicle.

On July 12, 2025, just after 2:00 p.m., a man was driving in the 1600 block of Pembina Highway when he noticed that he was being followed by a former acquaintance. While driving northbound on Pembina Highway, the suspect followed closely behind while pointing a gun at him. The man turned his vehicle around in an attempt to evade but the suspect continued to follow, all while continuing to point the gun at him. The suspect eventually turned on to a side street and the man contacted police.

West District General Patrol officers, assisted by the Tactical Support Team as well as the K9 Unit attended to a private residence in the 1-99 block of Briarlynn Road where they were able to located and arrest the suspect.

No one was injured as a result of this incident and a black pellet gun was later located and seized by police.

36-year-old Edgar Ricardo BORJA REYES has been charged with following offences:

  • Assault with a Weapon x 2
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 3

He was detained in custody.
