Man arrested in shopping mall with gun, knife, and cocaine: C25-147581

The keen observation of a mall employee saw a man placing a gun into his satchel. Mall security was alerted and kept a safe eye on the suspect until police arrived.

On June 30, 2025, around 7:15 p.m. officers from East District responded to the report of a man seen with a firearm at a shopping centre in the 1200 block of St. Mary’s Road. No threats were made, and nobody was injured. Police arrested a man who was had a handgun, a knife and 2.59 grams of cocaine.

Benjamin Patrick SINCLAIR (35), was charged with:

  • Possessing a Weapon
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
  • Possession of Scheduled Substance – Cocaine

He was detained in custody.
