West District Community Support officers arrested a 29-year-old woman at Portage Avenue and Tylehurst Street after she assaulted two pedestrians without provocation.
On June 28, at 2:30 p.m., Yolanda Mae HAMILTON approached a 45-year-old man and hit him in the arm, knocking his coffee out of his hand before she boarded a bus. Due to her behavior, she was refused service and directed to exit. As soon as she exited the bus, she approached the second victim, a 45-year-old woman, and punched her in the face, causing significant injury.
The woman was transported to hospital in stable condition for medical treatment, while the man suffered minor injury.
HAMILTON is charged with Assault and Assault Cause Bodily Harm. She was detained in custody.
