On June 29, 2025, shortly after midnight, North District patrol officers attempted to stop the driver of a 2005 Honda Civic after the vehicle went through a red light at Euclid Avenue and Austin Street. The driver continued to the 1–99 block of Higgins Avenue, where he abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Air 1 responded and tracked the suspect to the 100 block of Agnus Street, where officers took him into custody. A search during the arrest led to the seizure of multiple cell phones, cash, a drug score sheet, and 34 individually packaged rocks of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,200.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking, as well as several Highway Traffic Act offences. He was released on an undertaking.
