One woman seriously injured and one woman arrested following Central Park stabbing incident on June 26: C25-143921

Central District General Patrol officers responded to the Central Park area near Qu’Appelle Avenue after a 27-year-old woman was stabbed by an acquaintance stemming from a verbal dispute. The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition. She was upgraded to stable condition, but remains in hospital. The suspect, a 29-year-old woman, was arrested nearby.

Major Crimes investigators learned that the accused approached the victim while she walked in Central park around 7:15 p.m. A verbal argument escalated to the point the suspect armed herself with a knife and repeatedly punched and stabbed the victim causing serious injuries. The suspect fled but was arrested nearby at 7:35 p.m.

She is charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, and Fail to Comply with Probation and Release orders. She was also charged with Identity Fraud after providing officers with a false name.

She was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing.
