West District General Patrol officers, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and Drone Unit, responded to a Charleswood neighbourhood for a gun call.

On Friday, June 20th, around 6:30 p.m., police received reports of a gun in the 500 block of Dale Boulevard at a community centre.

Community members present at the time flagged down police and indicated that what initially began as a group fight outside the community centre, had moved and congregated outside a residence on Brownell Bay.

An uninvolved homeowner, called police after one of the involved teens ran by his yard and asked for help. Police separated the two groups and confirmed there was no gun.

A parent amoungst the group was injured but declined medical attention on scene. Police identified all the parties, spoke to the appropriate parents and cautioned everyone regarding continued altercations. No charges were laid.
