On June 20, 2025, just before 1:00 p.m., East District General Patrol officers arrested a man after he stole clothing and stabbed a security guard at a retail business in the 1200 block of St. Mary’s Road.

The man came into the store, took two hats and left without paying. When he was stopped by store security, he stabbed the security guard in the upper body with a knife. The protective vest he was wearing prevented any injuries. The man fled but was arrested by East District General Patrol officers near the store a short time later.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation.

30-year-old Scott Evan CORNELSON is charged with robbery and weapons-related charges and was held in custody.
