On April 19, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., a 34-year-old male was found unconscious after he had struck his head on the pavement following an assault by a man he did not know in the 0-99 block of Navy Way. He was transported to hospital due to a head injury and stabilized before being released. He will require further medical treatment for his injuries and is likely to have a lengthy recovery.

Investigators learned the victim and the suspect were involved in a verbal argument after the suspect caused a disturbance outside the victim’s residence. When the victim attended outside of his residence, he was immediately assaulted by the suspect thrown to the ground, knocking his head on the pavement.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and spoke to witnesses who provided the following description of the suspect. He is being described as a tall white male, 25-30 years, with shaggy brown hair and a short brown beard. At the time of the incident, he was wearing light blue jeans, white Nike runners with a black “Swoosh”, and a blue Jets Jersey with white “Byfuglien” lettering and white “33” on the back. He was last seen running north towards Smith Street by witnesses. (See photograph below)
