Counter Exploitation Unit arrest a 49-year-old man following an investigation regarding youth: R24-44998

On June 9, 2025, Michele BUTTARI (49) of Winnipeg, was arrested by investigators of the Winnipeg Police Service’s Counter Exploitation Unit (CEU) after they uncovered offences related to youth.

Through investigation, they learned that BUTTARI, between late 2023 and mid-2024, used social media to exchange intimate images with the youth, and provide them with alcohol, drugs and money.

BUTTARI is charged with two counts each of Luring a Person under 16 years of age, Obtaining Sexual Services from a Person under 18 years of age, Sexual Interference, Invitation to Sexual Touching, and Sexual Assault.

BUTTARI was detained in custody.
