Winnipeg Police Service officers arrested five individuals while investigating a gun incident in the 600 block of Alfred Avenue.
On June 12, just past 8:30 a.m., a man was seen pointing a hand gun at passing cars in the area of Burrows Avenue and McKenzie Street. Police arrived and saw this man run inside a private residence in the 600 block of Alfred Avenue.
North District General Patrol officers, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Unit (RPAS) were able to find and safely arrest five people within the residence.
A search warrant was executed, with the assistance of the Firearms Investigation and Enforcement Unit (FIEU) which resulted in the seizure of a 12-gauge shotgun, a pellet gun, a large quantity of ammunition, various firearms components, and body armour.
39-year-old George Angus OKEMOW has been charged with three firearms-related charges.
26-year-old Brendan Elice OKEMOW has been charged with nine firearms and cause disturbance-related charges.
38-year-old Michelle Maybelyne OKEMOW has been charged with four firearms-related charges.
All three were held in custody.
A 35-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman are facing three firearms-related charges and were released on Undertakings.
