Police looking for two men after a man assaulted with a rock in the downtown area: C25-126007

On June 7, 2025 at around 2:45 p.m. a man walking in the area of Broadway Avenue and Fort Street near Upper Fort Garry Landmark Park was assaulted by two men, one armed with a rock.

Central District officers spoke with the 49-year-old victim, who reported being confronted by two unknown men while leaving the park onto Fort Street. The men assaulted him, with one using a rock to strike him in the upper body. He was transported to hospital by ambulance in stable condition.

The first suspect is described as wearing a green sweater and black pants, and the second suspect is described as wearing a white shirt with no sleeves and white shorts.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and are asking any witnesses to come forward.
